Punkin' Chunkin' + Chili Cook-off

  • The Farm 5660 Old Richmond Road Lexington, Kentucky, 40515 United States (map)

It’s one of Pack 73’s favorite traditions, and you won’t want to miss it. Join us at the farm for an afternoon of flying pumpkins, hot chili, and a little well-earned revenge.

Watch pumpkins sail across a field, courtesy of our 30-foot trebuchet. (Legend has it one of them is filled with candy.)

What goes better with flying pumpkins than chili? Any family is welcome to enter a chili in the cook-off, no sign-up needed, and our Scouts serve as the judges. They’ll taste, deliberate, and vote for their favorite, and the winning cook takes home the most coveted prize in the pack: bragging rights for the year. If you’re entering, please bring a ladle and a card with your chili’s name and any common allergens (like nuts, dairy, or gluten) so our young judges can taste safely. The pack will provide toppings, chips, bowls, and spoons, so just bring your best pot of chili (or your appetite).

This is also the day scouts have been waiting for since popcorn season: their chance to pie a leader in the face. Our scouts worked hard selling popcorn this fall, and our leaders have agreed to take one for the team.
