Outdoor Adventure Day at Camp Kearney

  • Jacobson Park 4001 Athens Boonesboro Road Lexington, Kentucky, 40509 United States (map)

Pack 73 is heading outdoors to Camp Kearney at Jacobson Park, one of Lexington’s local gems.

LFUCG Parks and Recreation staff will lead scouts and families through canoeing, archery, and a guided hike through the park’s pine forests. We’re grateful to partner with them for this special program for our pack. Scouts and families will spend the day canoeing, trying their hand at archery, and taking a guided hike through the park’s pine forests.

This event is free for all Scouts and families and no RSVP is required.

Canoeing: Scouts who have passed their Advanced Aquanaut Challenge may canoe without an adult. All other scouts will paddle with an adult, so parents, plan to grab a paddle and join in.

Dress for the cold: This is a late-November event, and the lakeside can be chilly. Please dress scouts and family members very warmly in layers, with hats, gloves, and sturdy closed-toe shoes for hiking and archery. We also recommend packing a full change of clothes in the car, just in case someone gets wet on the water.

It’s a wonderful chance to get outside, try something new, and enjoy a beautiful park right in our backyard. We hope to see you there.
