“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
Every November, Pack 73 marks Veterans Day by giving back to the people who served our country.
During this pack meeting, Scouts will assemble care packages for veterans at the Lexington VA Health Care System and make handwritten thank-you cards to go with them. They will also learn what Veterans Day is, why we observe it, and what it means to thank someone for their service.
The pack is providing all the supplies for the care packages but each den is encouraged to bring additional donations to the pack meeting.
Lion: Individually-wrapped ramen noodle cups
Tiger: Maxwell House or Folgers coffee (25.9 oz plastic can)
